Windows Installer intercepts Word startup
(too old to reply)

Following a recent Windows/Office update, Windows Installer intercepts the
opening of Word and claims an installation error - "a required installation
file YC561413.CAB could not be found" - and tells me to insert the original
installation CD. I cancel this request and, a minute or more later, Word
opens and operates normally.
How do I stop Windows Installer from interupting the opening of the Word
application and causing me to wait two minutes for the program to open?
(a similar problem occurs with Excel also).

Not for Office 2007. All previous Office versions. For Office 2007 see **Note**
