I had created quick launch key to open OFFICE apps like WORD and Excel in
OFFICE 2003 using Ctrl + Alt they don't longer work in OFFICE 2007 and I am
unable to recreate them in properties>shortcuts.

The old keyboard shortcut does not work because the path to the program has
changed.

In your version of Windows try Help and Support and search for: keyboard
shortcuts.

If you are using Windows 7, you can pin the program to the Taskbar. If your
program is one on the first ten program icons {counting from the Start
Globe}, you can use the keyboard shortcut of Windows Key+Number where the
number is the position of program icon from the Start Globe. Internet
Explorer is usually in the first position so the shortcut is Windows Key +
1. For the tenth icon use the number 0.
