Reverting to Home and Office 2007 without losing licence

Dear Sir

I wish to try out a trial version of Office 2010 but the installation
instructions recommend first uninstalling the current Office software. If I
do revert back to the Home and Office software and need to reinstall it will
this count as an additional installation or does the registration process
recognise that one is merely re-installing on the same machine?

Many thanks

The Home and Student licensing is for three concurrent (at same time)
installs onto three computers, not three total installs over the lifetime.

The only issue you would have is with Outlook. Office 2007 and 2010 Outlook
can not be installed at the same time. I have Office 2007 with Outlook
installed onto one machine with Office 2010 Pro Plus beta installed onto the
same machine. Other than the re-registration of Word when switching between
the two versions I have no issues.

On another machine I have Outlook 2010 installed with the Pro Plus beta
along with all previous versions of Office (except for '95) and all on this
Win XP machine runs fine.

I actually prefer the Outlook '07 version more than the 2010 version. The
more I use 2010 Outlook the less I really like it. Just can't pin down what
the issues are other than the lack of contrast in the various color pallets
available.

Sorry to post this if you are already aware of it, but there is a registry
key named "NoReReg" which if added will prevent the re-registration process
when switching between versions of Word or Excel if you have multiple
versions of Office installed.
