Sorry I can't help but I'm having the same problem. HELP Someone!!!

I, like many other users who have posted concern on this site, am getting
this message while trying to open Microsoft Word after installing the beta
2007 version, or the compatibility pack. I have been using the beta version
for over 3 months now and tried getting the compatibility pack. After I
intalled it, I got this message while trying to open word. This is a very
important and urgent problem for me, because I am a student and all of my
notes are on Word. I have 16 gigs of space left.
Can anyone help?
Or does anyone know the number I should call to get help?
Thank you

Hi Aycor,

I'm not clear on your configuration.

(a) The Compatability pack is for folks who do not have Office 2007 installed on their computer and (b) Office 2007 Beta2 and Office
2007 release (final) version software tends not to match/play-nice-together.

Have you installed or updated other software on your system or used any type of 'cleanup' utility?

Dude Same Thing With Me! Are you using a stolen version of it? cuz i am and it says the same thing so i think if you went out and purchased it, then it would work.

Solution

You need to delete the key

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\<SI
of the affected user

I did that and it's all working again

Good luck

Since you don't understand how to delete a key, PLEASE BACK UP YOUR REGISTRY
FIRST!!! A misstep in editing the registry can screw your computer up big
time.

I'm running Office 12 Student and Home (Word 2007, etc) in XP. I ha
the same problem. None of the previous fixes mentioned on this pag
seemed to work for me. You should go to "Start>Control Panel>Use
Accounts>Create A New Account". Create a new user and login as tha
user. I was able to get Office 12 (Word 2007, etc) running again thi
way. Then go to your old user folder and copy all of your documents, et
into the new user folder. Then delete the old user account

I did that and it's all working again.
Go to START >> RUN and type in REGEDIT and click Ok.
Then browse to the registry key I have listed above and simply delet
it.
If you need to find out the SID of the affected user, go to this sit

hope that helps out!
